DONNA LEE (HARRELSON) GRAVES

Donna Lee (Harrelson) Graves came into this world on April 20, 1942 in Farmington, N.M. to Floyd and Sadie (Phillips) Harrelson and parted to soon on Monday night, April 3, 2017 at Southwest Memorial Hospital in Cortez.
Donna brightened the lives of everyone she met, she knew no stranger. She was always chatty and loved to visit. Mom loved to tell us stories of growing up in Farmington, N.M. of the fun she had walking to school, running barefoot in the grass and eating apples right off the tree. She graduated from Farmington High School in 1960. Just a few weeks later she married the love of her life, Harold Graves. They were able to spend fifty years together before he passed away in 2010.
Harold was drafted right after they were married which began a great adventure for the two of them. They started a family with a baby girl so tiny and fragile. Not long after, 18 months to be exact, came along a baby boy. What a surprise they had six years later when they welcomed a new baby girl into their lives. By 1971 Harold and Donna had moved back to Cortez and started their own business, a vending machine route known as High County Music. We all got a new surprise when yet again our family grew when another bouncing baby boy joined the family but we are not done growing as a family. Just two years later we welcomed our youngest brother.
Mom loved to be surrounded by her family. She was always eager to learn new things. She loved to crochet and make up new patterns. We all have a house full of lovely gifts she made for us. She looked forward to going to thrift stores and finding new treasures.
Donna (Harrelson) Graves is survived by her five children, Helen Graves, William (Butch) Graves and his wife, Lorrie, DonnaGene (D.D.) Watkins and husband, Curtis, Harold Dean Graves and his wife, Angie, John (Danny) Graves and wife, Jennifer, all of Cortez and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Our family would like to send our gratitude to all who have helped Donna throughout her life. We are very appreciative of all the medical staff that worked so hard to help her in her time of need. Once again thank you all for the help and support you have shown us in our time of need.
