OPAL MARCELLA BENNETT
Opal Marcella Bennett was born on October 13, 1913 in Eugene, Ore. the daughter of William and Martha (Thomas) Gower. She passed away on Monday, March 8, 2010 at Golden Years Retirement Home in Cortez at the age of 96.
Opal was a member of the Secret Pal Club and she was very active in various churches. Opal loved to fish and she was a great hunter. She also enjoyed drawing.
Surviving Opal are her three daughters, Shirley Jean Cullum Fairbanks and husband, Vaughn of Cortez, Donna Elaine Cullum McCorkale and husband, Cleo of Chillicothe, Ohio, and Martha Marcella Cullum Sanford and husband, Wayne of Ft. Mojave, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, June Fairbanks of Casa Grande, Ariz. Opal was preceded in death by her parents; and by eight brothers and sisters.
Cremation has taken place and services will be held at a later date.
