CRESENCIO "CHRIS" ESTRADA MUNOZ
A funeral mass will be held for Cortez resident Cresencio "Chris" Estrada Munoz at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 3 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery.
Rosary services will be held Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.
Chris was born the son of Faustino and Margarita (Munoz) Estrada on May 20, 1942 in Chihuahua, Mexico. He passed away at Southwest Memorial Hospital on Friday, February 26, 2010 at the age of 67.
Never idle, Chris could always be found doing something. He had a love of the outdoors and especially enjoyed caring for and training horses. Hunting and fishing were favorite pastimes of Chris. Spending time with his grandchildren brought him much joy.
Surviving Chris are his wife, Maria Martha Estrada of Cortez; his children, Bonnie Gallegos and husband, Tim of Farmington, N.M., Chris Estrada and wife, Esmeralda of Cortez, Ana Martinez and husband, Zac of Dove Creek; grandchildren, Annita Gallegos, Domingo Gallegos, Don Gallegos, Shawn Gallegos, Emilia Gallegos, Desiree Gallegos, Sarah Gallegos, Kari Estrada, Renee Estrada, Regan Estrada, Miguel Estrada, Daniel Estrada, Diana Estrada, Jade Estrada, Jasmine Martinez, Isaiah Martinez, and Quinton Martinez; and his siblings, Emilio Estrada, Thomas Estrada, Matias Estrada, Ismael Estrada and wife, Sandy, Ramon Estrada, Cervanda Estrada and Bertha Estrada. Chris was preceded in death by his parents; and by one son, Frederico Estrada.
