VIVIAN JOYCE MARI
Memorial mass for longtime Cortez resident Vivian Joyce Mari will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 19 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.
Joyce was born on January 16, 1931 in Sterling, Colo. the daughter of Dale and Zelpha (Greer) Simmons. She passed away on Friday, February 12, 2010 at Vista Grande Inn at the age of 79.
On September 17, 1949, Joyce married Raymond Mari in Sterling, Colo. During her working career, Joyce was the bookkeeper/secretary and treasurer for Colorado Pica. She spent her free time volunteering at the senior center and Joyce loved to play Bridge.
Surviving Joyce are her sons, Adrian Mari of Cortez and Eric Mari of Denver; and her sisters, Alice Foos of Sterling, Colo., Laurel Barber of Anchorage, Alaska, and Jinny Manaski of Austin, Tex. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; and by her husband, Raymond Mari.
