NEDRA LOUISE FINLEY WILMARTH
Graveside inurnment services for former Cortez resident Nedra Louise Finley Wilmarth will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 10 at Cortez Cemetery.
Nedra was born on March 1, 1917 in Paris, Tex. the daughter of Roy D. and Liza Jane (Henson) Finley and she passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 in Fruita, Colo. at the age of 92.
Nedra migrated with her family to Cortez. She graduated Montezuma High and then married Elmer E. Wilmarth on July 31, 1941. They lived in Silverton Colo., Bakersfield Calif., Albuquerque N.M. and Durango during 62 years of marriage.
Nedra was a wonderful seamstress, cook and gardener and loved fishing, crosswords and cards. A lifelong member of the Church of Christ, she loved family and will be sorely missed.
Nedra was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer; her son James E. (Claudette) Wilmarth; her brothers Roy, Jack and "Buck" Finley; and her sisters, Katy Belle Finley, Melba Knight, and Betty Pritchet. She is survived by her son, William S. (Mary) Wilmarth; her grandchildren, Scott, Jeffery (Diana), Joshua, Daniel (Pamela) and Amy Wilmarth; seven great-grandchildren; her brother, Eugene (Juliette), sisters, Dorothy Browning, Mary Lois Daves, and Myrtle Axtel; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
